Highgate Cemetery (part II)

We made another visit to the Highgate Cemetery yesterday with Jeanne Solsberry, Elizabeth Niece, who was visiting. We had good weather for a change, although it was still a bit windy.

The cemetery art is remarkable the mixture of fine work and the overtakings of nature create a place that has its own atmosphere.

With a little looking about, you can find a marker or two with a sense of humor. The one below seems to be making a statement about the life of the resident that might appear in a Non Sequeter comic.

Others, more cryptically, simply state an important quality of the deceased.

And the local fox made an entry to snatch a few snacks.
