A European robin, not the silly American thrush we call a robin. |
Today, Elizabeth and I went to London Wetlands Centre out near Hammersmith. We found a delightful place. It isa wetland of ponds and march bits with nice paths, a cafe, hides, a shop, and some very nice people.
The european robin above came to sit on the picnic table next to me while I fiddled with my camera. So I took his/her picture. A dandy little fellow.

We took the tube to Hammersmith and then caught the bus that took us directly to the wetlands. After about 4:00 we stopped at the cafe for a tea and scone. the scone was just about the densest thing I've ever tried to bite into. not hard, not bad tasting, just a dense as a brick.
We had great weather this afternoon and really enjoyed being outside. The warm weather is inducing many trees and plants to start blooming. Premature spring. I'm sure it will be cold again and damage these fragile blooms.
But not in Morocco where we'll be next week. Warm, sunny, and happy.
